Location: Bloomsburg, PA
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime: May be required based on business needs

Compensation: Salary based on experience

Position Summary:
Custom Filters Direct is seeking a hands-on Robotics & Automation Engineer to support, troubleshoot, repair, and improve automated systems within our facility. This role will serve as the primary onsite resource for robotics and automation, supporting both day-to-day operations and new automation projects.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working directly on the production floor with a laptop, diagnosing issues in real time, and performing hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as needed.

Our facility utilizes MiR (Mobile Industrial Robots) , which are autonomous mobile robots used to transport materials throughout the facility without fixed paths. This role will help support and optimize those systems as part of our broader automation environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic and automated production systems
  • Program and modify PLC systems; Allen Bradley experience preferred
  • Diagnose and resolve automation issues in real time on the production floor
  • Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as needed
  • Support implementation of new automation projects and system improvements
  • Optimize equipment performance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams
  • Maintain documentation related to systems, updates, and improvements
  • Ensure safe operation of automated systems, including MiR robots

Qualifications:

  • Experience in robotics, automation, or controls engineering required
  • PLC experience required; Allen Bradley preferred
  • Intermediate robotics programming experience required
  • Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), including MiR robots, is a plus
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work hands-on with equipment while also handling programming and diagnostics
  • Experience in a manufacturing or automated production environment preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of systems

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods
  • Ability to work on and around production equipment
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to bend, lift, and perform hands-on mechanical work as needed
